On a clear night, the surface of the Earth losses heat by radiation. Suppose that the temperature of the ground is 10oC and that the ground radiates like a black body. What is the rate of loss of heat per square meter?

Calculate the wavelength of a monochromatic UV photon which suffers Compton scattering from electrons at rest so that the angle of scattering of UV photon and the angle of recoil electron emission are both 58o.
