A 2.00 m by 3.00 m plate oh aluminium has mass of 324 kg. what is the thickness of the plate ?(the density of aluminium is 2.7X10^3 kg/m^3.

We know volume = length x height x thickness

So

thickness = volume / (length x height) = V / (L x h)

We have L = 2 m and h = 3 m

We need to calculate the volume

We can get it from :

density = mass / volume

So volume = mass / density

V = 324 / 2.7 x 10^3 = 0.12 m^3

So,

thickness = 0.12 / 6 = 0.02 m
